The true star of Capricorn Inn is undoubtedly its iconic Rod Burger—a half-pound smashburger that delivers a perfect balance of juicy, seasoned beef, melted cheese, and fresh toppings. Always delicious and generous portions. Chef Salad is huuge. My favorite is the hot ham and cheese. Blt is good room and my kids love the grilled cheese sandwiches Highest recommendation. Great prices too!
Wife an I went to Capricorn Inn for the first time today. The food portions are insane...lol The Rod Burger is great. The small chef salad was huge. The fried cauliflower was perfectly breaded and crispy. We enjoyed our meal. It's a pretty inconspicuous place, but it is definitely worth a trip. The staff was very friendly.
Great atmosphere, great service, great food. Only one minor complaint with the food was that one sampler was lukewarm to cold. Very large portions. Good parking, plenty of seating, and a pool table in the back room. Close to Cowan Lake. Would definitely recommend, and will definitely come back!
The food was amazing The burger is done perfectly that 1/2 lb smashburger was amazing The french fries were a little lackluster The pickle chips were amazing
Absolutely phenomenal!! A bit out of my way (almost an hour drive) but I had to try it and it was worth the trip. One of the biggest and best burgers I have ever had! I had the Rod burger and added bacon and it was to die for. I had a side of fries and cheese sauce. “Side” is kind of an understatement as the side portions are enormous. One order of fries could easily feed 2 people! A lot of mine went to waste because it is just me. That’s really the only downside, it would be nice to offer individual sized sides as well, but I realize there are probably far less single diners than anything, so shareable sides work. The place was extremely busy and everyone was working their butts off so I commend the staff for that! Everyone was very friendly. Do expect a little wait for the food because everything is cooked fresh to order and they seem to stay busy!
You will not leave hungry. The rod burger and tater tots were really good. Service was also great.
Food is great. Our server was really good, but there was a decent wait to pay our bill at the front counter. I highly recommend the Rod burger and cheese curds.
Rod’s is hands down one of the best places around! The burgers are unbelievably huge and seasoned to absolute perfection — every bite is packed with flavor. The fried mushrooms are an absolute must-have; they’re crispy, golden, and addictive. The service is just as impressive as the food. All the girls working there are total sweethearts — friendly, attentive, and always smiling. You can really tell that the ownership has put a lot of thought into crafting a menu that fits exactly what people in this area want. If you’re anywhere nearby, do yourself a favor and stop in. Rod’s nails it on quality, service, and that perfect hometown charm.
